SOS // We're Hiring!

Son of a Sailor is looking for a new addition to our team, and we're hoping you or someone you know fits the bill! We are seeking a Retail & Social Media Assistant to contribute to our marketing, editorial, and storefront efforts. This position works directly with the owners and fellow staff in a collaborative and energetic environment.

Some important duties include:

+ Managing our retail storefront at Canopy, including merchandising, cleaning, inventory, special events, register duties and customer interactions.

+ Developing an editorial calendar and original content for our lifestyle blog, Every of the Stuff.

+ Social media and marketing efforts across all of our social media platforms including newsletters, press releases, and special projects.

+ Helping to maintain and update the Son of a Sailor website. Includes banner creation, SEO efforts, and management of online sales and customer relations.

Preferred candidates will have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
+ Writing/blogging (writing samples are requested)
+ Photography and Styling
+ Retail and customer service
+ Social media, specifically Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.

The ideal candidate will be:
+ Detail oriented
+ Organized
+ Excellent at time management
+ A team player and self-motivated
+ Reliable and punctual
+ Interested in fashion, home and design trends for men and women

The position would begin at 15-20 hours per week, with the intention of growing into a full-time position. Friday and Saturday availability a must. Hourly pay is commensurate with experience.
