Bonjour! Today I thought I would post some photos from my recent trip to Paris. (As the blogger-in-chief at Son of a Sailor, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share a few of the coolest things I came across.) Read on for my list of visual highlights!

Charming Architectural Details Exploring an old city can be so rewarding. In Paris, everything from the door knockers on the street to the ceiling tiles in department stores was stunningly intricate. However, not everything beautiful was ancient! Paris is also a street art Mecca, and I took as many snapshots of this avante garde art as I did of the old stuff.

Unusual Shopping In Austin, we have no shortage of unusual shops. As much as it pains me to admit it, Paris has even stranger ones. Deyrolle, a historic natural history shop, and Les Puces de Saint-Ouen, the world's largest flea market, were standouts in this regard.
A sliver of the majestic offerings at Deyrolle
A set of 67 (!!!) nesting dolls spotted in a shop window- they've got ours outnumbered by a few.
Beautiful flea market ephemera.
Son of a Sailor in Paris I almost had a fit one night when I came across one of our very own shave kits sitting in a glowing shop window. The Conran Shop, one of our stockists overseas, included this kit (and our flash drives!) in their lovely window displays! And get this: The building that houses this Conran Shop location was designed by Gustave Eiffel! C'est magnifique!
