Curate // Made

Thanks to it's location in beautiful Jackson Hole, Made gets plenty of tourist traffic. However, its inspiring atmosphere and fascinating curation have made it a shopping destination for tourists and locals alike. Owner John Frechette originally became a merchant as a means of selling his own pieces (He makes colorful fused glass belt buckles,) but now, Made offers works by over 160 US based makers. We're proud to count ourselves among this group!

The goods at Made run the gamut from fun trinkets to precious hierlooms, but the one thing they all have in common is that they're made with care in the US.  (That's the reason the holiday cards look so much more charming than the ones you pick up at the drugstore.)

John also puts as much thought into his display space as he does his products. We haven't gotten to visit in person yet, but photos from his space are stunning!

Further evidence that Made has it goin on? They're one of Etsy's selected independent boutiques to showcase in honor of small business Saturday! This video, made by Etsy and Amex, gives a glimpse into the work that these store owners do to bring creativity into their communities:
We were also excited to see our friends at Fair Folks & a Goat in New York selected for this edit as well! In the video, Aurora describes how they offer a community-bolstering coffee membership, alongside their retail venture. If you're lucky enough to be in Jackson Hole or NYC on November 29, be sure to check these rad places out on Small Business Saturday!
