Son of a Sailor is looking for a new addition to our team, and we're hoping you or someone you know fits the bill! We are seeking a Retail & Social Media Assistant to contribute to our marketing, editorial, and storefront efforts. This position works directly with the owners and fellow staff in a collaborative and energetic environment.

Some important duties include:

+ Developing an editorial calendar and original content for our lifestyle blog, Every of the Stuff.

+ Creating newsletters and social media marketing efforts across all of our social media platforms.

+ Merchandising, developing and creating window displays for the retail portion of our working studio at Canopy.

+ Working special events and workshops that are held at our studio and at Canopy as a whole (such as gallery openings, E.A.S.T. and Studio Sessions).

+ Assisting with day to day studio operations such as ordering supplies, fulfillment of online orders, customer relations, etc.  

Prerequisites for the position include familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. While blogging experience is not specifically required, it is helpful. Writing samples such as blog posts, articles, and other relevant pieces are encouraged. An active interest in retail merchandising as well as fashion, home and design trends is helpful in this position.

The position would begin at 15-20 hours per week, with additional hours to be added regularly, as needed. Hourly pay is commensurate with experience.
